to prove how exciting my life gets.. I guess I should be writing my paper for finals next week but I think I will end up buying some new shoes and learning some new tricks from Cristiano Ronaldo.. May have to catch up on the WNT Blog as well. oh yeah follow me on twitter if ya want— @Goalkeepa25
it is almost time for the Olympics. you know what that means? no, not Michael Phelps body. i mean as much as that is nice to look at it is not all about that. Soccer.. actually Women’s Soccer. to be more specific, team usa. US WNT. yeah thats the greatest team you have never heard of. ranked number #1 and fields the best players in the world. ring a bell yet? well. lets just say the next month is about to get rowdy. real rowdy. Usually I watch soccer from my living room at home, this year is a little different. I will be changing the atmosphere up by watching it in my apartment down in Centralia at school because I start college soccer a couple of days after Olympic play starts for the ladies. I really hope my roommates (a golfer and basketball player) can handle my craziness for the game. If not I may have to move my watching of the game to the balcony with my mac. I honestly think this year that the Women’s team will pull out the Gold. It was a tough loss with the world cup, but everything happens for a reason right? God has a plan for everyone. I believe this is the big plan for team USA. It will be a challenge but those ladies are fearless. I am beyond proud of my country because they have worked hard to get this far and they are not going out without a battle. and proof about that is in lasts years game against Brazil. did you forget about that? if you did HOW COULD YOU? doesn’t that Rapinoe pass and Wambachs header into the back of the net just give you the chills still? if not you may want to watch that one more time… okay how about 20 million times. Anyways, I am beyond excited for this tournament. I follow everything on twitter and the WNT Blog on USSoccer.com. I just look up to these ladies, hey i’m 18 and have a dream to play I don’t think that is so bad. until then I will be stretching for a victory celebration after each goal and drinking hot tea to soothe my vocal chords for all the Ole’s and Screaming I will be doing down south. I hope they are ready for TEAM USA. good luck ladies. Bring home the gold.
Where do I even begin. This is my bro, Benjamin. He is fourteen years old. Not single and likes to hit the ball out of the park. Honestly, I never see this kid because he is either playing baseball, playing football, with his girlfriend, or of course Sleeping. But what I can tell you that he is great man. He is brilliant on both ends of the bat. He scores high in school and is great as an athlete. I am grateful to call him my brother. It is crazy but we never fight. Perfect relationship? I think so.
So Senior year Soccer didn’t start out so great for me. I was in between the pipes for approx. two weeks.. (first two weeks of season) a tournament rolled around and I ended up breaking my hand in the second game.. At that point I knew I had crushed my own dreams and I knew I had let myself down. I was in my own world with people saying “Oh it is not your fault” “Everything happens for a reason”. Wait. So.. What am I suppose to do now.. So I was sent to the hospital. Came home with a red/yellow cast. I was not happy. Went to practice that day.. Hello Midfield. The whole season I started offensive midfield for our team. I scored A LOT of goals this season, two games with hat tricks also. This season was for sure one to remember. I am thankful for being able to be an athlete, be healthy, and have great coaches. I am honestly blessed.
I recently just ended a huge chapter in my life. HIGHSCHOOL. Greatest four years of my life. But I am thankful it is over with. People say “Oh you will won’t those days back” okay maybe I will but not for a while. With Highschool came boys, drama, and partying. But I kept my nose out of the drama. Two guys came into my life through highschool, but lets be honest those fours years aren’t the greatest tobe in a relationship. Being single isn’t a bad thing. Anyways, I had my year of partying my junior year, lets just say I have learned my lesson. Wait till your 21. It is worth the wait trust me.. So I have learned three things from those years. 1. Live your life with no regrets. 2. You find out who your real friends are. 3. YOLO. Congrats to the Maroa-Forsyth Class of 2012. We did It!
Well.. It all started about 15 years ago. Mom always told me for my birthdays I asked for soccer balls and soccer balls ONLY. She knew it was destined to be. So Mom and Dad signed me up for good ol’ YMCA Soccer. Wearing those green/yellow jerseys, shinguards that were to big, socks that always fell down, oh and the shoelaces that never stayed tied. Yah those were the times of my life. My dad coached me for many years in Y soccer. so yah you already know we won. Years went by programs went down. I wanted to take the game to a new level. I was looking for a new thing in life. Midstate. I played midstate for sixxx years of my life. Wow. It has shaped me into the player I am today. From playing keeper, forward, keeper, defense, keeper. As you can tell I am a keeper now. Eventually Highschool rolled around. I started forward my freshman and sophmore years. Scoring goals was the best feeling ever. My junior year I stepped in and played keeper. Broke tons of records for my school and was named All Area Goalkeeper. Senior year didn’t go as expected. But i played midfield scored a lot of goals and had the time of my life. In highschool we made it to the Regional Chpionship three times, won one regional, and made it to sectionals. Finally, I recently just signed for Kaskaskia College on a full ride to play soccer for two years.. Tbc.
It is kind of funny how as you get older, you realize how little you actually knew when you were a kid. When you were little you had no care in the world. A huge part of growing up is deciding that you actually want to do it.
